Enjoy lunch under the vines while soaking in the Autumn sunshine and tucking into some seriously good gourmet fare. If you are looking for something more casual, grab one of the winerys picnic rugs and a grazing platter and enjoy an alfresco session with your pooch on the lawn.

Pyrenees State Forest

Following a tasting and a lunch, stretch your legs (all four of them) at the nearby Pyrenees State Forest. Pop a lead on your fur baby and enjoy a stroll to the Avoca Waterfalls. The waterfalls picnic ground is much loved by dogs for its numerous trees that are perfect for sniffing.

Summerfield Winery

Drop into Summerfield Winery for a sneaky wine, an afternoon coffee or a snack. The large green open spaces is great for pups and their owners. Summerfield is also home to their famous wood fired pizza’s. The oven fires up for lunches Wednesday through to Sunday and dinner Friday and Saturday nights. if you can’t stay for a meal (and we suggest you squeeze it in), it’s worth taking home a bottle or two of their estate grown wine to enjoy later.

Avoca Chinese Garden

Beautifully positioned overlooking the river flats, Avoca’s Garden of Fire and Water is a delightful attraction to discover in the Pyrenees. Reflecting the Chinese heritage within the region, the garden represents and acknowledges the important contribution of early Chinese immigrants to Avoca during the gold rush era of 1850-1870. Pop a lead on your four legged friend and wander around the large boulders and follow the path out onto the Avoca Riverbanks.
