Gallery 127 is located in the recently transformed, and heritage listed Avoca Railway Station building.The Gallery presents exhibitions of paintings, photographs and sculptures by local and regional artists and features monthly solo exhibitions by individual artists in the exhibition rooms.Local history displays, workshops and artist studio spaces are also available together with a permanently operated community plant nursery situated on the station’s platform.

Avoca Historic Walk
If history fascinates you, there is no better way to experience the history of our towns (established by the discovery of gold) then by taking a self-guided heritage walk. Wander Avoca’s wide main street, past historic buildings, and discover the town’s rich history at a leisurely pace. Many of the buildings lining the streets are still in their original condition.
Waterfalls Picnic Ground and Governors Rock Lookout
Located 10km from Avoca in the Pyrenees State Forest is this gorgeous seasonal waterfall within the Pyrenees State Forest is accessible by an easy 0.5 km walk from the Waterfalls Campground. The walking track is very scenic and runs alongside a beautiful stony creek.The waterfall is only flowing in the winter months or after a heavy rain. This waterfall is an impressive spot to visit even when the water isn’t flowing, as the huge slabs of rock where the waterfall flows down over several large, step-like levels are a sight to behold with or without water.Sure-footed climbers can clamber up beside the rocky wall and reach another level where the upper section of the waterfall drops down onto a platform before finally flowing over the lower drop. Take care if climbing, as the grass and rocks can be extremely slippery and a fall would likely result in serious injury.The Governor Rock Lookout Tower and Picnic Area is located on the No2 Creek Track in the Pyrenees State Forest. There’s a small parking area beside the road with a little picnic area.A walking track heads off from the picnic area to the lookout tower, a tall platform with steel steps and railing which offers spectacular views of hills, bushland and farmland. On clear days you can see as far as Waubra 40km away!

Avoca‘s Garden of Fire and Water provides a beautiful venue for weddings, special occasions and events; and it is a picturesque stop for a day in the Pyrenees.

The range includes mouth watering marshmallows using fruit puree’s and juices, taste bud tempting smooth rich truffles , rich creamy fudge , mini meringues bursting with authentic flavours, Yo-Yo’s which melt in your mouth, Gourmet Snowballs and a few other surprises. Pack a picnic and enjoy the natural scenery of the Avoca River which is located just one street behind the main street. Utilise the strategically placed picnic tables scattered under shady trees and take in the peace and quiet.
