Here’s a guide to our Pyrenees Wineries with excellent outdoor spaces for you to wine and dine in and all offering delicious grazeing platters where you can eat your weight in cheese and cured meats!

 

Blue Pyrenees
Enjoy a substantial range of wines on offer at Blue Pyrenees cellar door for tasting, including a range of limited release styles exclusively available to their Single Vineyard Wine Club members. A short stroll up the hill from the winery, the cellar door provides a superb vantage point from which to taste the wines and learn about the winemaking process or maybe you would prefer to enjoy a glass or two relaxing under the vines enjoying their famous grazong platter. The extraordinary Blue Pyrenees Platter is so much more than just cheese and cold meat, this is a meal designed by their professional team to deliver a wild ride for the taste buds and hearty satisfaction for the hungry. Compriseing warming treats including home made bread, croquettes, and quiche to name but a few. Accompanied by fresh salad, olives, cured meats, pickled vegetables and of course some local cheese with their own shiraz gel.

 

Bigibila
Bigibila is a place where you can celebrate life and enjoy the outdoors on their large deck while taking in the breathtaking views of the vineyard and Pyrenees Mountain Ranges. Open 11am – 5pm Saturday and Sundays Bigibila offers visitors a casual and more relaxed dining with their Farmers Feast grazing platters featuring Goldfields Farmhouse Cheeses as well as delicious coffee and cake. So, order what catches your eye, grab yourself a glass (or two) of beautiful Bigibila wine and settle in for the afternoon.

 

Wayward Wines
Only 20 minutes from Ballarat and overlooking the Pyrenees Ranges, Wayward Winery is a “must visit” location. Featuring sweeping views of the Pyrenees Ranges, eight acres of vines, cellar door and restaurant. Headlining wood-fired pizzas, smart snacks and smashable wine – this hidden gem restaurant on Ballarat’s outskirts brings the wow factor. Wayward caters for a relaxing lunch and tasting afternoon. Timber floors and features add a homestead vibe, as do the massive windows gaping over the chardonnay block. Choose from a range of specialty dishes, gourmet platters, superb wines, and premium beer.

 

Sallys Paddock
Throughout the last 40 years Sally’s Paddock wines have gathered an unwavering following of fans sharing a familiar love for their seamless yet full- bodied flavoured wines. Visitors are warmly welcomed to enjoy the wineries diverse selection of wines on the terrace with a platter while soaking up the beautiful views of the Pyrenees. Neil smokes his own lamb on site, Sally bakes all of the freshly made cakes on site and makes preservatives out of the fruit grown on the estate. Renowned for its fresh produce, you can be sure the quality ingredients on your platter will have your mouth watering before the first bite.

 

Summerfield Winery
Mark Summerfield’s dream of bringing guests a quality menu of locally grown produce has been realised. The extensively renovated and extended café and cellar door now includes an indoor/outdoor dining space which overlooks the beautiful winery gardens. With an emphasis on locally sourced and homegrown products, Summerfield Winery & Accommodation offers guests the best of the Pyrenees region. Summerfield specializes in wood-fired pizzas, stone baked artisan poolish sour dough breads and has a delicious gourmet deli. The perfect accompaniment to the bold, award-winning red wines the vineyard is renowned for. The grazeing platters make it easy to loose an afternoon loungeing on the estates lawn with an assortment of cheese & cured meats, local olives, dried fruits & nuts, Japanese Gyoza, condiments to compliment and baked In-house breads.

 

Taltarni
Come and discover your new favourite wine at Taltarni Vineyard, located in Moonambel.  Create your own Insta-worthy moment in the beautiful estate gardens enjoying a platter filled with local produce while sampling the estates wines. If you are keen to do just more than a wine tasting, make sure you check out the range of winery experiences that really give you the ‘meet the maker’ experience including a barrel tasting experience. Once a month, Taltarni host live music and invite you to relax in a beanbag on the lawn or seated at the tables around the veranda for an afternoon of outdoor live music.

 

Mrs Bakers Distillery
A little hidden gem located near Elmhurst surrounded by spectacular scenery. Mrs Baker and her team are passionate about harnessing flavours of the place where they live. This is evident in her variety of gins and paddock to plate menu. Visit the small craft distillery and see spirits being made, plus tastings and sales. The experience is intimate with the team taking you through a very informative and fun  tasting and we recommend staying for lunch under the shady tree. Bookings are essential so be sure to call ahead.
