Art enthusiasts and artists are looking forward to the 16th annual Bendigo Community Bank Pyrenees Art Exhibition. The renowned art show will be held in the Beaufort Town Hall over the King’s Birthday long weekend 10th, 11th, 12th June 2023. With art entries received from both local artists and from across Australia the event showcases an amazing array of artworks in mediums of oil, watercolour, acrylic, pastel, and mixed media. A feature section will be showcased of artworks on small 8” x 10” canvas’ in the theme of ‘Fire and Flood’.
Organised by the Pyrenees Arts Council in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Beaufort, the show is the largest event on the calendar of the small community. Tickets to the event includes a delicious Devonshire Tea provided and served by the Beaufort Girl Guides.
Visitors this year can also enjoy a new ‘Artists a Work’ event in the Berripmo Centre. Right next door to the Art Show, local artists Angela Gerrard and Deborah Bourke are providing free demonstrations, displays and hands on workshops throughout the Saturday and Sunday of the King’s Birthday Weekend. The Rotary Club of Beaufort will host a second-hand book sale in the Beaufort RSL Hall, also at the same times as the Art Exhibition.
Opening night of the Art Exhibition will be held on Friday 9th June from 7.30pm. The night is a great chance to have the first look at the exhibition and hear the prize winners announced whilst enjoying delicious supper from Beaufort Liliana.
